This study explores the forms, functions, and local wisdom embodied in the traditional technologies of the Ammatoa Kajang Indigenous community in Tanah Toa, Bulukumba Regency. The increasing influence of modernization surrounding Kajang territory poses a threat to the continuity of customary knowledge passed down across generations. This study is urgent because existing research on Kajang traditional technology has largely emphasized its cultural, customary, and environmental dimensions, while the mathematical concepts embedded within these practices remain largely unexplored, leaving a gap that this study seeks to address. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and literature review. The findings reveal that traditional technologies in Kajang serve not only as practical tools but also as integral elements of customary systems, spiritual values, and social structures. The gedokan loom, traditional house architecture, manual agricultural tools, horse-based transportation, and forest conservation practices rooted in Pasang ri Kajang demonstrate a strong connection between technology, simplicity (tallasa kamase-mase), and ecological harmony. The use of geometric patterns, standardized structural measurements, and specific techniques in producing the traditional black sarong reflect the presence of ethnomathematical knowledge embedded within their cultural practices. The study highlights that technological knowledge is transmitted through family-based learning and reinforced by strict customary regulations. The pressures of modernization underline the need for systematic documentation, cultural education for younger generations, and collaborative efforts among indigenous communities, scholars, and policymakers to preserve cultural identity and ecological sustainability.
